1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Board Law, a mobile and web application operated by Audux Ltd ("we," "us," or "our"), a company registered in England, United Kingdom.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Board Law application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Board Law is a board game companion app designed to help users find instant answers to board game rule questions, manage their game collections, and engage with a community of fellow players. Key features of the Service include:

• Instant Rule Answers: Fast, accurate answers to your board game rule questions drawn from a comprehensive database
• Comprehensive Game Database: Coverage of 3,000+ games and expansions, growing daily
• Glossaries & Definitions: Searchable glossaries and index lookup tables for game-specific terminology
• Collection Management: Tools to import and organise your personal board game collection
• Community Q&A: Browse questions, upvote helpful answers, and submit corrections
• Find Similar Games: Discover new titles based on mechanics, theme, complexity, and player count
• Setup Guides: Guides for fast and easy game setup

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. By using Board Law, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

If you are between 13 and 18 years of age, you represent that you have obtained the consent of a parent or legal guardian to use the Service, and that they have read and agree to these Terms on your behalf.

4. Account Registration

4.1 Creating an Account

To access certain features of the Service, you may need to create an account. When registering, you agree to:

• Maintain and promptly update your account information
• Keep your login credentials secure and confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account

4.2 Account Responsibility

You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account credentials.

4.3 Account Termination by You

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon deletion, your personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

5.1 Free Tier

Board Law offers a free tier that provides access to the full game database, rule answers, glossaries, community features, and more at no cost.

5.2 Premium Subscription

We offer a premium subscription with advanced features for power users, including but not limited to:

• Camera integration for instant context from cards and components
• Unlimited questions
• Speech-to-text input
• Priority support
• Early access to new features

Premium features, pricing, and availability are subject to change. Current pricing and feature details are displayed within the App at the time of purchase.

5.3 Billing and Renewal

• Premium subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, as selected by you) through the applicable app store or payment provider
• Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date
• You are responsible for all applicable taxes associated with your subscription

5.4 Cancellation and Refunds

• You may cancel your premium subscription at any time through your app store account settings or by contacting us
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain access to premium features until then
• Refunds are handled in accordance with the policies of the applicable app store (e.g., Google Play, Apple App Store). We do not provide direct refunds for app store purchases unless required by applicable law

6. Acceptable Use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
• Submit false, misleading, or malicious content through the community Q&A or any other feature
• Harass, abuse, threaten, or intimidate other users
• Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely claim an affiliation with any person or entity
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other users' accounts, or our systems and networks
• Use automated tools, bots, scrapers, or similar technologies to access or extract data from the Service without our prior written consent
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any other harmful code
• Use the Service in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair the Service

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these acceptable use provisions.

7. Community Content

7.1 User Contributions

The Service allows you to submit questions, answers, corrections, and other content through the community Q&A and related features ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you:

• Grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, and irrevocable licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, display, and distribute your User Content in connection with operating and improving the Service
• Represent that your User Content does not infringe the intellectual property rights or other rights of any third party
• Acknowledge that your User Content may be visible to other users of the Service

7.2 Content Moderation

We reserve the right, but are not obligated, to review, edit, or remove User Content that violates these Terms or that we deem inappropriate, at our sole discretion.

7.3 No Endorsement

User Content represents the views of the individual contributors and does not necessarily reflect the views of Audux Ltd. We do not endorse any User Content.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Our Intellectual Property

The Service, including but not limited to its design, layout, text, graphics, logos, icons, images, software, and underlying technology, is the property of Audux Ltd or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or otherwise exploit any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

8.2 Board Game Content

Board game names, logos, rules, and related content referenced within the Service are the property of their respective publishers and rights holders. Board Law provides rule assistance as a reference tool; we do not claim ownership of any third-party board game content.

8.3 Trademarks

"Board Law," the Board Law logo, and related marks are trademarks of Audux Ltd. You may not use these marks without our prior written permission.

9. Disclaimers

9.1 Accuracy of Rule Answers

9.2 Service Provided "As Is"

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
• The results obtained from using the Service will be accurate or reliable
• Any defects in the Service will be corrected

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Audux Ltd and its directors, employees, partners, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with:

• Your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the Service
• Any content or information obtained from the Service
• Unauthorised access to or alteration of your account or data
• Any other matter relating to the Service

Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or £50, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Audux Ltd and its directors, employees, partners, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of a third party
• Any User Content you submit through the Service

12. Termination

12.1 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice, including if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms.

12.2 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

• Your right to access and use the Service will immediately cease
• Any active premium subscription will be cancelled (with no refund for the remaining period, unless required by law)
• We may delete your account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy

12.3 Survival

The following sections shall survive termination of these Terms: Sections 7 (Community Content), 8 (Intellectual Property), 9 (Disclaimers), 10 (Limitation of Liability), 11 (Indemnification), 14 (Governing Law), and any other provisions that by their nature should survive.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any material changes by:

• Posting the updated Terms within the App and on our website
• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of these Terms
• Sending you a notification through the App or by email (for significant changes)

Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection legislation.

15. General Provisions

• Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Audux Ltd regarding the Service
• Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect
• Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision
• Assignment: You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms without restriction
• No Agency: Nothing in these Terms creates any agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship between you and Audux Ltd
